Joints in the pipe system are easilyinsulated with SMIT foam packs, which can be applied on both polyethylene and zinc covered pipe cases.


Foam packs

SMIT foam packs are used innon-aggressive, weak- or medium-aggressive environments. Operating temperature is from -50° С to +60° С.

Two-component foam liquid,
after mixing and filling,
forms an effective insulation
meeting the requirements of Russian
National Standard GOST 30732-2006
(technical specification for pipes
preinsulated with polyurethane foam).

Warranty period of storage of SMIT foam packs is 3 months.

We recommend using SMIT foam packs for insulating joints in pipe systems. Thefoampackincludesall necessary components for quick and proper insulation of the joint.

Companies of the SMIT Group use high-qualityrawmaterialfrom proven suppliers only. Moreover, all components of foam pack go through incoming control according to Russian National Standard GOST 24297-2006.

Polymericpolyethylenecomponents of the foam pack are resistant to corrosion, have low water- vapor- and gas permeability and high chemical resistance to acid and alkaline environment.

SMIT foam pack consists of:

  • Set of polymeric materials;
  • Liquid components of polyurethane foam;
  • Additional welding alloy;
  • Technical napkin for grease removing before setting heat shrink sleeve;
  • Other materials used for insulating pipeline joints.

We offer foam packs of any size made of
high-quality materials.


We manufacture three types of foam packs:


Foam pack with heat shrink sleeve;

Foam pack with heat shrink sleeve for the electric weld insulation of joint;

Foam pack with zinc sleeve for insulation of zinc covered pipe systems.


All materials used for manufacture of SMIT foam packs always go with quality certificate.

Each SMIT foam pack has data sheet with following information:

  • Manufacturer’s name;
  • Registered office;
  • Product identification code;
  • Technical specifications;
  • Serial number and size of the lot;
  • Production date;
  • Storage and transportation requirements;
  • Manufacturer’s warranty;
  • Stamp of manufacturer’s quality control department.

SMIT hot melt sealing:

  • Low water- vapor- and gas permeability;
  • High chemical resistance to acid and alkaline environment;
  • Resistant to destruction in weather conditions;
  • Resistant to contact with ground waters and soil.

SMIT hotmelt sealing tape.

When it comes to reliability of adhesive joints, SMIT Group has efficient solution – hotmelt sealing tape.

SMIT hotmelt sealing tape was specially developed for manufacturers and consumers of preinsulated pipe systems.

КЛЕЕВАЯ ЛЕНТА СМИТ:

  • имеет низкую водо-паро-газопроницаемость,
  • имеет высокую химическую стойкость к кислым
    и щелочным средам,
  • устойчива к деструкции в атмосферных условиях и при
    контакте с грунтовыми водами и почвой.

Hotmelt sealing tape is polymeric material. It is manufactured on the extrusion line and consists of adhesive material made on the modified copolymers basis.

Hotmelt sealing tape, when used with heat shrink sleeves, provideshermetization of preinsulated pipesystems’ joints.

Polyethylene adhesion characteristics of SMIT hot melt sealing are 3 times higher compared to analog counterparts.Temperature of SMIT hot melt sealing activation is 80-90° С.

SMIT hot melt sealing doesn’t harm the environment. It is manufactured in accordance with technical standards 2513-001-12368834-2013.

SMIT hot melt sealing which is transported and stored in accordance with stated rules have a time limit for use of 24 months counting from the production date.

Муфты СМИТ изготавливаются из
полиэтилена низкого давления ПЭ100
высокой плотности, стабилизированного
сажей согласно требованиям ГОСТ 16338-1985.
