We use world-class equipment, which is made in accordance with SMIT Group requirements. SMIT Group suppliers are: Krauss Maffei, Spiro, KWH Pipe,
Cincinnati, Canon, Widos, Bomar Transvers, EWM, Esab,
Lincoln Electric, OTECO, Lindab, ROCCIA etc.

We use our own railway branch to speed up shipment and delivery processes.

Purpose-built equipmentallows us to successfullyimplement modern technologies and compete with the leadingglobal manufacturersof preinsulated pipes.

Process of production includes following stages:

  • Incoming inspection of raw materials;
  • Shot blasting steel pipes;
  • Setting spacers on the steel pipe;
  • Remote control system cable drawing;
  • Placing the steel pipe into the pipe case (zinc or polyethylene);
  • Heating the construction in thermal stabilization camera;
  • Foaming the pipe with polyurethane;
  • Testing the operative remote control system;
  • Final check by quality control department.

When making bends, branches and other fittings additional operations are included:

  • Cutting pipes into sections;
  • Gas welding;
  • Ultrasonic control of welding joints;
  • Buttwelding of polyethylene.

We use advanced welding technology for galvanized steelsbased on the results of research of leadingspecialists working in welding production of SMIT Group.
We have achieved maximum corrosionresistance of fittings’ galvanizedsteel elements.

Reliability of the pipeline is ensured by the following conditions:

  1. Polyurethane foaming on cyclopentane basis;
  2. Implementing of 5 welding methods;

  4. High-qualitymetalwelding;
  5. Ultrasonic control of welding joints;
  6. High quality butt-welding of polyethylene pipes up to ∅ 1 600 mm;
  7. Heat shrink sleeves stand 2000 test cycles over the European norm of 120.

SMIT Group is Russia’s only company that mastered efficient cyclopentane foaming for pipe insulation. This technology is widely used among preinsulated pipelines manufacturers all around the world.

Cyclopentane provides stableinsulation properties of polyurethane foam for 30 years at constantheating media temperature of 160° C andincreases thermal insulation efficiency of thepipe up to 0,027 W/(m*K).

Use of cyclopentanein production keeps heat-conduction coefficient stable throughout the service life of pipeline.

This reduces costs and ensures ultimate service life of heating systems.

Polyurethane foaming based on cyclipentane meets internationalenvironmental safety requirements.
